DuPont Dow Introduces New Base-Resistant Products Based on Advanced Polymer
Architecture (APA). Viton® Extreme™ fluoroelastomers combine
the excellent thermal resistance of Viton® with the unique resistance
to chemicals and to environments that have historically exceeded the performance
of conventional fluoroelastomers. DuPont Dow foresees interest in the
work of Viton® o-ring design engineers in the oil and gas exploration,
chemical processing, utilities, automotive and heavy duty/off-highway
markets.

New Viton® Fluoroelastomers Made With Advanced Polymer Architecture
Upgrade Chemical Process Sealing. Viton® made with Advanced Polymer
Architecture will endow valve seals, pump diaphragms and process system
tubing with greater robustness, and enhanced chemical, heat and pressure
resistance leading to longer seal life and lower maintenance costs. The

DuPont Dow Elastomers Introduces Advanced Polymer Architecture For Viton®.
DuPont Dow Elastomers has announced the development of a new generation
of Viton® fluoroelastomers made with Advanced Polymer Architecture,
offering a combination of improved processability and final part performance
not previously available in specialty fluoroelastomers. The new Viton®
products are important for o-ring design requirements in the automotive,
chemical processing, aerospace and semiconductor industries.

At Rubber Expo 2001. DuPont Dow Elastomers has developed a new generation
of Viton® Advanced Polymer Architecture fluoroelastomers for o-ring
design and new, highly crystalline grades of Nordel® IP EPDM that
improve processing and end-use performance in a variety of applications.

Viton® Shrugs Off Cold and Heat in Japanese Direct Injection Engines.
Reports in the Japanese automotive industry confirm that o-ring seals
of DuPont Dow Viton® fluoroelastomers are being increasingly selected
for fuel injector and high pressure pump systems supplied to manufacturers
such as Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota.

DuPont Dow Elastomers Builds New Facility for Expanded Viton® Fluoroelastomer
Offerings. Construction of the new facility caps a three-year initiative
to develop an expanded range of new Viton® elastomers for o-ring design
engineers to use in tough applications. The plant will be located adjacent
to the current DuPont Dow fluoroelastomer plant.
