DuPont Dow Previews Newest Member Of Kalrez® Spectrum™ Family For The Chemical Processing Industry

Talk to Problem Solving Products about Kalrez® o-rings and seals.

News Release from Dupont Dow Elastomers

10/22/2001

Chem ShowIn the first expansion of its Kalrez® Spectrum™ product line designed specifically for the Chemical Processing Industry, DuPont Dow Elastomers has unveiled its most recent developmental product, Kalrez® Spectrum™ KLR7075. The Spectrum™ family of products was originally launched in 1999 with the introduction of Kalrez® Spectrum™ 6375. - Now, Kalrez® Spectrum™ KLR7075 is available for customer sampling.

Designed as a high performance offering for critical sealing components, Kalrez® Spectrum™ KLR7075 perfluoroelastomer parts build on the exceptional performance of Kalrez® 4079, the industry standard for severe sealing applications. Customers will benefit from longer seal life and increased mean time between repairs due to the benefits of KLR7075 performance:

  • Very low compression set at 204°C for 70 hours (15%)
  • Enhanced sealing force retention
  • Higher thermal resistance, up to 326°C (620°F)

In addition, KLR7075 offers broader chemical resistance and better cool down set recovery than Kalrez® 4079, and provides a smoother, glossier finish than other Kalrez® products.

"Our customers in the chemical and hydrocarbon processing industries have experienced exceptional seal performance in preliminary product testing, especially in mechanical seal applications," said Don Pittenger, Chemical Process Industry Marketing Manager, DuPont Dow Elastomers. "We believe KLR7075 is an important addition to the family of Kalrez® products, which have become the industry standard for safe, reliable service."

As a developmental product, availability is currently limited to O-ring samples for customer testing. KLR7075 parts are scheduled to be commercially available in mid-2002. List price is expected to be the same as Kalrez® 4079.
